retroshark.gamesharklabs.com is operated by GameShark Labs LLC (Lutherville Timonium, MD), the same entity that operates gamesharklabs.com. This page describes how this site collects, uses, and protects information when you visit.

What we collect

Standard server access logs (timestamp, IP, user agent, referrer, request path), retained for security and abuse detection. Vercel Analytics aggregates page-view metrics anonymously. Vercel Speed Insights measures Core Web Vitals from real visits.

We use Sentry for error monitoring. When an error happens, Sentry records a replay of that page session so we can see what broke. We use PostHog to count waitlist sign-ups, keyed to a one-way hash of your email address rather than the address itself.

We do not run advertising trackers, do not sell visitor data, and do not embed third-party social pixels.

Email you give us

If you join the RetroShark waitlist, we collect the email address you submit and the confirmation that you are 13 or older. The address is stored with Resend (opens in a new tab), our email provider, and used only to tell you about RetroShark. We do not sell it or share it for anyone else’s marketing.

We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by emailing privacy@gamesharklabs.com.

Children

RetroShark is not directed to children under 13, and the waitlist form asks you to confirm you are 13 or older. If you believe a child under 13 has given us an email address, write to privacy@gamesharklabs.com and we will delete it.

Cookies

retroshark.gamesharklabs.com does not set any first-party cookies in v1. The Vercel analytics endpoints may set short-lived technical cookies for delivery purposes only.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email privacy@gamesharklabs.com and we will answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

US state privacy rights: California, Colorado and Maryland

Some US states give their residents specific rights over personal information. GameShark Labs LLC may not meet the thresholds that make these laws apply to it, but we honour the rights below for anyone who asks, wherever they live.

California (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA)

If you live in California, you can:

• Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it.
• Delete personal information we hold about you.
• Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
• Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out request anyway.
• Limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect it.
• Not be treated differently for using any of these rights.

In the last 12 months we collected identifiers (the email address you give us if you join the waitlist, a one-way hash of it, your confirmation that you are 13 or older, and the IP address and browser details in our host’s server logs), internet activity (pages viewed, referring site, performance timings, waitlist sign-up events, error reports and the page replays Sentry records when an error happens) and approximate location (country). We collect it from you and from your browser, for the purposes described on this page. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, and server logs are held by Vercel.

You can use an authorised agent. We will ask the agent for proof that you authorised them, and we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.

Colorado (Colorado Privacy Act)

If you live in Colorado, you can:

• Confirm whether we process your personal data, and get access to it.
• Correct inaccuracies in it.
• Delete it.
• Get a portable copy of it, up to twice a year.
• Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that leads to legal or similarly significant decisions. We do none of these. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out, and you can authorise someone else to opt out for you.

Maryland (Maryland Online Data Privacy Act)

If you live in Maryland, you can:

• Confirm whether we process your personal data, and get access to it.
• Correct inaccuracies in it.
• Delete it.
• Get a portable copy of data you gave us.
• Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that leads to legal or similarly significant decisions. We do none of these.
• Get a list of the categories of third parties we have disclosed personal data to. The services this site uses are named on this page: Vercel, Resend, Sentry and PostHog.

We limit the personal data we collect to what is reasonably necessary to provide what you ask for, and we do not sell sensitive data.

How to make a request

Email privacy@gamesharklabs.com and say which right you are using. We will confirm we received it within 10 business days and answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within the first 45 days and take no more than 45 more.

Appeals. If we decline your request, reply to our decision to appeal it. We will answer in writing within 60 days, or within 45 days if you live in Colorado. If we deny the appeal, we will tell you how to contact your state Attorney General: the Consumer Protection Division in Maryland, or the Colorado Attorney General.

If you are in the EU, the UK, or Switzerland

GameShark Labs LLC is the controller of the data described above. Our legal bases are: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (server logs and aggregate analytics), and your consent for the waitlist email, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

We are based in the United States, and our processors (Vercel, Resend, Sentry, and PostHog) are US companies, so your data is transferred to the US. Those transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreements with each processor. You can request a copy of the relevant terms.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing, and the right to receive your data in a portable form. You also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
